HLL 2012 Spring Skills Assessment

SCROLL DOWN FOR TRYOUT TIMES. Please review the following tryout rules and procedures:
- All players must attend the skills assessment. No player who fails to try out will be placed in the draft unless they make alternate arrangements with the league VP. (There are no tryouts for T-Ball and Senior Divisions).
- There will be no returning to previous teams for Baseball Major players. All players must attend the skills assessment.
- Skills assessment are solely for the purpose of player evaluation and even distribution of talent amongst teams.
All children registered to play at HLL will be selected for a team.
- Skills assessments will be held at the Robious Sports Complex, behind Robious Elementary School.
- 2012 HLL Baseball “Play Up” Rules
- 6 Year Olds may TRY OUT for the Instructional division if they have played at least one (1) year of Little League sponsored T-Ball (Fall Ball does not count). It will be at the discretion of the VP if a 6 year old plays in Instructional or Advanced T-Ball. If a 6 Year Old does "play up", you will be required to pay the registration fee for the Instructional division will apply – an additional $30.
- 8 Year Olds MAY TRY OUT for a Minor division team.
If an 8 Year Old is interested in playing in the Minor division, they MUST attend the Minor division tryout in order to be eligible to be drafted by a Minor division team. If they are drafted by a Minor team, then they can play up in the Minor division. If they are not drafted by a Minor division team then they will be drafted and play in the Instructional division.
NOTE: 8 Year Olds must also attend the Instructional division tryout, as trying out for the Minor division does not guarantee that they will be selected to play up. Failure to attend the Instructional division skills evaluation will result in removal from the Minors pool.

10 Year Olds MAY TRY OUT for a Major division team.
If a 10 Year Old is interested in playing in the Major division, they MUST attend the Major division tryout in order to be eligible to be drafted by a Major division team. If they are drafted by a Major team, then they can play up in the Major division. If they are not drafted by a Major division team then they will be drafted and play in the Minor division.
NOTE: 10 Year Olds must also attend the Minor division tryout, as trying out for Major division does not guarantee that they will be selected to play up. Failure to attend the minor skills evaluation will result in removal from the Majors pool.

12 Year Olds MAY TRY OUT for a Junior division team.
If a 12 Year Old is interested in playing in the Junior division, they MUST attend the Junior division tryout in order to be eligible to be drafted by a Junior division team. If they are drafted by a Junior team, then they can play up in the Junior division. If they are not drafted by a Junior division team then they will be drafted and play in the Major division.
NOTE: 12 Year Olds must also attend the Major division tryout, as trying out for Junior division does not guarantee that they will be selected to play up. Failure to attend the Major skills evaluation will result in removal from the Juniors pool.

14 Year Olds may “play up” in the Senior division simply by registering for the Senior division or informing the Senior division VP or the Player Agent of their wish to play up

The following are the places and times for the tryouts for each division. In order for tryouts to proceed as smoothly as possible, please come to the field 15 minutes before the time assigned to your age group and place in the alphabet. Note that there are no tryouts for the T-Ball and Senior Divisions. Please note that the ages below refer to your child’s league age – the age he or she will be on April 30, 2012 for baseball or December 31, 2011 for softball.
